UNESCO

How can we get the world to stop skimming and scrolling, and take notice of a problem that’s only getting worse: rising violence against journalists?

By telling the story through the media: showing that there’s a hidden story behind the stories we see every day.

We helped UNESCO spread the word for the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists with a visual impossible to ignore: a figure representing the dozens of journalists killed last year alone is covered by a real article that resulted in the death of a reporter.

Headlines like these sometimes cost journalists their lives.

Only in the last two years, killings of journalists rose 38% to 162 journalists killed.

2022 saw the highest killings of women journalists since 2017 – 10 killings.

It’s time to change the story. It’s time to #EndImpunity for Crimes Against Journalists.

This international campaign went beyond translation, we used the most relevant local stories in our visuals, adapting or message in our key markets.
